Recently posted at the Jostens’s Facebook page, the photo shows how championship rings were designed in the days before computer design software.

The ring being crafted by the Jostens’ employee is the final version of the Pittsburgh Steelers Superbowl XIV Ring.
It’s from the 1979 season, when the Steelers beat the Los Angeles Rams 31–19. The game was closer than the final score indicates as the Rams led at halftime 13-10.
Most Jostens salesman samples have quarterback Terry Bradshaw on the side. Bradshaw was named Super Bowl MVP by completing 14 of 21 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns.
Sometimes Joe Greene (“Mean Joe Greene”) appears on Steeler Sample rings from this time period.
Rings are now designed on computers and no longer built the way this photograph shows.
