Actually the championship ring is kind of ho-hum, but it comes with that huge and rare Jostens Championship ring box:

Why would I call a Packer’s Super Bowl XXXI ring ho-hum?
Because it’s not the huge, championship ring awarded to the players, coaches and key staff members of the 1996 team. However, the markings shown inside the ring (you can see the auction listing for yourself on eBay) indicate it is an authentic Jostens championship ring.
The Super Bowl ring being offered, is a much smaller version than the players received, but what I like about this championship ring is that it comes with the exact same wood presentation box the player’s received.
This wood presentation box was only used (as far as I can tell) that single year and is much larger than other wood presentation boxes made before or since. Jostens, who does not make the wood presentation boxes themselves, also used the exact same design for the Patriots AFC championship ring that year.
Perhaps the company that made these boxes for Jostens had issues or went out of business, or discontinued this style box. Whatever the reason, these style boxes were never seen again or used by Jostens or any other championship ring manufacturer.
According to the auction, this is a board of directors Super Bowl ring. If that was the case, I would expect that the Super Bowl ring would be a little nicer. I doubt this is a “shareholders” Super Bowl ring since if one was offered to the many shareholders of the team, I don’t think a wood presentation box, or special invitation to the award ceremony would be included in the presentation of the ring.
Perhaps it is a mid-level staff member’s Super Bowl ring, but this is only speculation.
Please remember as always, I buy championship rings. If you would like to sell your championship ring in complete privacy, please contact me.
