The Sonics are long gone from Seattle, but here’s a rare chance to secure the only championship ring the team won:

1979 Seattle Sonics NBA championship ring

The 1979 championship ring shown above, belonged to John Johnson, who passed away in January.

Johnson was a small forward and two time NBA all-star, who played with the Sonics from 1977 to 1982.

The championship ring is from Johnson’s estate, and will be auctioned by Nate D. Sanders Auctions on September. 29, 2016.

The championship ring is a size 12, and contains a single 75-point diamond. It’s made of 14 caret solid yellow gold by Balfour. NBA rings from the 1970s all look very similar, no matter who the winning team was.

According to my database on championship rings, three Sonics rings belonging to Johnson’s teammates have sold at auction for between $71,548 and $115,242.00.

Please remember, I buy championship rings. If you would like to sell your championship ring in privacy, please let me know.
