Let’s Hope This Is Not A New Trend In College Championship Rings

June 24, 2016

Florida State awarded this championship ring celebrating its self-proclaimed “Florida State Championship” and a losing Peach Bowl appearance:

2015 Florida State FSU Fotoball Championship ring

Basically, Florida State made up it’s own reason and award to hand out 2015 championship rings to their players.

Why? Probably because the gorgeous championship rings help in recruiting new top high school player prospects.

FSU has been a very successful college football program. 2015 was the first season Florida State did not win the ACC since 2011. 2015 ended their streak of three straight conference titles. Without the title, FSU didn’t make it to the College Football Playoffs and instead, were invited to the Peach Bowl, where they were defeated by Houston 38-24.

So, this means that clearly, Florida State didn’t have a real reason to award its players championship rings to celebrate some kind of championship, and the University basically made something up.

While Florida State didn’t win the ACC, or the Peach Bowl, it did manage to defeat USF, Miami and Florida during the regular season. So with that 3-0 football record against schools from Florida, FSU is celebrating their self-proclaimed “Florida State Championship”.

Still think this championship ring is valid and a good idea? What about UCF, FAU and FIU? Florida State did not play those teams yet awarded themselves the championship ring shown above.

Please remember, I buy championship rings. If you would like to conduct a private deal and sell your championship ring, please let me know.

These NBA Championship Rings Are Different!

June 23, 2016

If you tire of seeing the same style championship rings over and over, here are three NBA championship rings that break the mold (pun intended):

NBA Championship Rings

None of these three championship rings display the Larry O’brien trophy on the top of the ring and the middle and right rings have unusual shapes not commonly found on championship rings.

From left to right: The Dallas Mavericks 2011 Championship ring, the Chicago Bulls 1993 Championship ring, and the Golden State Warriors NBA Championship ring from 2015.

The three championship rings are probably salesman samples: The Maverick ring sample is Dirk Nowitzki’s, while we can assume the Bulls ring is Michael Jodan’s, the finally the #30 shown on the Warriors ring belongs to Steph Curry.

The most unusual shape and style goes to the Bulls, hands down on their 1993 Championship Ring.

Please remember, I buy championship rings, (just not salesman samples) so if you would like to do a private deal and sell your championship rings, please get in touch with me.

Nike Shows Off The Coolest Championship Ring Tee-Shirt Ever!

June 22, 2016

We have no idea who’ll make the Cavaliers 2016 Championship ring and what they’ll look like, but already there’s speculation they’ll be huge:

Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 Championship Ring

I’ve seen plenty of championship rings on tee shirts and even on Michael Jordan’s golf bag. Most of the time, the rings don’t even look like the real championship rings, and very few championship ring tee-shirts look cool.

As you would expect from Nike, if they’re peddling a championship ring tee shirt it will be hip and oozing with pizzazz.

The Nike shirt shown above features Lebron James’ arm and hand holding up a radically huge championship ring with the Nike swoosh iconic logo prominently displayed in the middle. Currently, the shirt, which sells for an also-large $35, is marked “Coming Soon” at the Nike website (Nike.com).

Championship ring enthusiasts and Cavalier fans should check the website often as the championship ring shirt will probably sell out fast.

Please remember, I buy championship rings, just not championship ring clothing! If you would like to do a private deal and sell your championship ring, please let me know.

Want a Cowboys Super Bowl Ring? This One’s Available

June 21, 2016

One of the most treasured pieces of Cowboys history will be coming up for auction:

Dallasw Cowboys 1993 Super Bowl Ring

Heritage Auctions announced that a Super Bowl XXVIII ring, belonging to former Cowboys coach Robert Ford, will be at auction taking place on August 27th and 28th.

Online bidding and phone bids start on August. 5th.

The solid gold championship ring features four football-shaped marquis diamonds on top of the ring which fit inside of a larger football shape. The four large diamonds symbolize the Dallas Cowboys’ four Super Bowl championships at that time. The Super Bowl ring was designed and manufactured by Balfour. One side features Ford’s name, and the word “Coach”. Using red and blue enamel, the NFL logo stands out nicely, and there’s also a rendition of Cowboys Stadium.

The opposite side of the ring also has enamel paint which helps the Super Bowl XXVIII logo stand out. Also included on that side are the words, “World champions back to back” with two Lombardi trophies and the Super Bowl XXVIII logo.

The Super Bowl ring also comes with the original Super Bowl presentation box and the ring appears to be in “near pristine” condition.

It’s highly likely that the Heritage August 27th and 28th auction will have other championship rings available as well.

Please remember, I buy championship rings, especially Super Bowl rings. If you have a championship ring to sell and cherish your privacy, please contact me.

Two Gaylord Perry World Series Rings Sells At Auction

June 20, 2016

Over the weekend, Leland’s sold two World Series Rings belonging to the Hall of Fame Pitcher:

Gaylord Perry San Francisco Giants World Series Rings

Gaylord Perry compiled big numbers during a 22 year major league baseball career.

He was a five time all star and won an impressive 314 games. He had 3,534 strikeouts and a 3.11 ERA, and in 1991 he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Two large and impressive championship rings belonging to him were auctioned this weekend in Leland’s much publicized Miracle on Ice Auction. Both championship rings garnered 11 bids, so each one sold for $31,124.92 (since the starting bids were the same and the computerized auction format used the same incremental bidding amount).

The two World Series rings were from the 2012 and 2012 seasons.

Perry had played for the Giants from 1962 until 1971 and then moved on to the Indians, Rangers, Padres, Yankees, Braves, Mariners and Royals.

Perry has worked for the Giants for a number of years since his playing days ended and he was recently honored with a large statue at the Giant’s Ball Park. The World Series rings that were sold were the same size championship ring that the players received.

Please remember, I buy championship rings, so if you would like to sell your championship ring privately, please let me know.
