Recently Bob Lemke (or someone pretending to be Bob) wrote on this site "I just can't fathom why this website must continue. How is it benefiting anyone? Also, why does "Mike the Ring Guy" hide behind anonymity. No real name or contact information, except a lousy cell phone number."
Bob, or whoever you are, here is my response:
1) This site must continue because what SCD and CC are doing is awful. CC is polluting our industry with garbage. Why does SCD get to choose what infractions they will report on and which they will ignore (hint: it has to do with whether or not they have an advertising and business relationship with the company that violates ethics in our industry).
2) You wrote, "I just can't fathom why this website must continue. How is it benefiting anyone?" This website must continue because SCD is hiding and not reporting on important problems in our industry. Worse, SCD shut down our ability to leave comments on O'Connell's blogs. This website benefits everyone (except cc and scd) by allowing us to be heard!

Funny, SCD and all of the other publications and people associated with SCD have hidden too. They are completely inaccessible to those of us in the industry who wish to discuss this matter.
So what if I am anonymous? I am not the story or focal point: CC and SCD is the story, not me. I'm just producing the blog by which hobbyists and express their ideas, and opinions on this matter. Besides, how am I anonymous? As you pointed out, my cell phone and email address are on my website.
Bob, here I am, email me or call me. I'd love to talk to you or anyone else at SCD. Unlike TS, I won't leave you on hold for thirty minutes hoping that you go away, and I won't bury my head in the sand and ignore you!

Did O'Connell really leave you on hold for half an hour?
Assuming Bob Lemke did respond to your blog, you can't be all that shocked at his response can you? EVERYONE at SCD is like that. They're all mindless puppets. Either they don't care about the direction of the hobby or they're too frightened to speak up. The fact is, if you're on the payroll, you can't possibly voice a negative opinion about an advertiser, let alone the biggest one. It's really that simple.
Again assuming Lemke posted here, this comment should sum up his love for the bad guys: "I just can't fathom why this website must continue. How is it benefiting anyone?"
What Lemke's actually saying is that the blog isn't benefiting SCD. No kidding. Nothing that anyone at that sad little magazine does or says anymore surprises me.
SCD is bad for the hobby and it's time for them to go away.
He did not leave me on the phone for half an hour waiting. According to one of the comments from one of the blogs on the internet, TS did leave someone else on the phone for a half hour because TS did not want to speak about this subject.
Let me backtrack slightly on what I said about Lemke. I don't think he loves the bad guys. That was a little harsh. However, he's still completely, if not purposely, missing the point of this blog if those were indeed his words. It's disheartening to read what he said.
SCD and F+W Media both know full well who they're dealing with. But they're not in this for the betterment of you, me and the hobby. They want the cash and they'll gladly accept it from whoever's spending--credibility and ethics be damned.
Why don't we all keep quiet and allow this continue with smiles on our faces, as the uneducated collectors who trust the massive machine that is SCD/FW/Krause find out eventually what they have in their possession which is a worthless item, that they bought from the largest advertiser in a trusted hobby newspaper. It's easy to attack any blog, but there is more uproar of late about what's going on. Any schmo can pretend to be someone else (I'm Tom Cruise), so make sure it's who says they are and do as you do, attempt to insure that this person is in fact the writer leaving messages on the blog area. Keep up this great work.
There is someone who keeps posting here. His posts are off topic and all he writes about is the size of my private parts and that's just the beginning. Next he usually goes into an insulting and vulgar tirade.
Please, stop posting here or call me and we can get to the bottom of your problems. Hiding anonymously is cowardly.

Just ignore him, Mike. Happens everywhere. Change the comments setting to where you can approve them before they're published. Should take care of everything.

Yes it is about time. I want to "thank" Mike for maintaining this blog. It's unbelievable that Coach's Corner actually has a Joe Jackson (yes, that Joe Jackson) autographed baseball up for auction this month. And guess who the authenticator is; it is Chris "I Never Saw An Autograph I Didn't Like" Morales. I have yet to see anything from Morales that I can honestly say is authentic. And "Stat Authentic" are the "Clowns Of Authentication."

we need to keep up our fight and focus. I am sure Coach's Corner will not go away, why would they? They have made a fortune and filled our hobby with worthless garbage. Hats off to SCD, but the fight goes on!
PS - I hope I hear from those losers at Coach's Corner and I hope that SCD will write on Coach's Corner from an objective point of view.
